From her earliest days as a reporter - when she returned from a tour of Ireland with an investigative report on exploitative trade practices in the cottage textile industry - Phila Hoopes has been combining business with conscience.

Whether documenting air pollution control systems across the nation...initiating communication between men's and women's nonprofit communities...or creating a proto-marketing network among Maryland-based green businesses...she has held the values of fairness, connection, and environmental responsibility at the core of her work.
